With the help of a scanner or a digital camera produce a file presenting your black & white or colour image in JPEG/JPG or GIF format.

When scanning, try to use the following requirements for the output image:

A. For the main images 1. The height of images with "portrait" orientation to be 300 pixels.

2. The width of images with "landscape" orientation to be 400 pixels.

3. Those images that are squares (heigth = width) or close to squares (landscape pictures with width = 400 pixels, but heigth - more than 300) should be treated as portrait images (see 1.).

4. The resolution must be 72 dpi.

5. The size to be about 30 - 50 kb.
 B. For the thumbnails (the small images) 1. They should be squares with height and width 170 pixels.

2. First, try to scan again the cartoon, with the output size of the smaller dimension of 170 pixesls.

3. If necessary, then cut its height or width (using a software like Adobe Photoshop, Corel Photopaint, or MS Photoeditor) so that the basic idea of the cartoon be preserved.

4. The resolution must be 72 dpi.

5. The final size of thumbnails to be under 25 kb (as smaller in kilobytes, as faster they will download to the viewer's browser). To show your art you just need a picture, but to sell it fast the following information will be of real help. This should be done in plain text format.

You are requested to send along a short biography, an artistic signature - trade mark and optional: a photograph or self image sketch.

We need your mailing address, day time telephone, fax or e-mail to contact you and arrange the money transfer after your item is sold.

Every item should include a number, short title, specify the technique, original dimensions in centimetres and approximate inches (not including the frame) and price.

It's up to you to decide the price range.

The item can contain words in the image in any language, if added outside: text should be translated in English and owner is responsible for the correctness.

The piece should be original with or without a frame. If decided to sell quality reproduction copies as well you should mark it clear as a "Print" or "Copy" with the number of the copy out of how many prints, for more convenience for the buyer.

The participants may submit entries in any one of the following sections:

Cartoons /Caricature
Comics strip
Illustrations
Posters
Photographs
Books/Catalogues
Small sculptures
Other media

You don`t even need a computer after you e-mail your collection via the Internet. You can be contacted by fax, first class mail or telephone for any sold items from your portfolio.

Note: Clear pornographic images or entries displaying hate or cruelty towards human beings or animals will not be considered appropriate.

How it works for the seller

A potential buyer will choose your item over the Internet. He/she completes the transaction sending the asked price to our office. We will contact you to send the item through first class mail or a courier to the buyer's address.

After the buyer receives the package and is satisfied, you will be notified and the payment will be sent in a convenient way for you. The seller is obligated to send any sold item to the buyer at his/her expense after he/she is contacted by us and given the buyer's mailing address.

If you wish you may include the shipping & handling, postal insurance and customs expense (if applicable) in your sale price. Remember: The buyer pays only one time for your item, including delivery and no hidden prices should be added. Please autograph your art work. The sellers should wrap the item to avoid damage. Do not bend or roll pictures (excluding posters - roll up). The package must be received in very good condition. For cartoons, comics, posters, illustrations, photographs, books, catalogues and other two dimensional media, please, write "Print"on the package . In case of lost or damaged packages the buyer should contact the local post office. If the package is not insured, the seller will be contacted to issue a credit or replacement to the buyer. Cartoonist's World is not responsible for any lost or damaged packages.

Cartoonist's World reserves the right to cancel membership at any time, make regulatory or any other changes, edit, print your art images, your name, photo picture or self-portrait, country of origin, short biography, and artistic signature for commercial use or any other promotions, exhibitions and publicity.

Note: No personal information will be disclosed to a third party. Your personal information (not included in the biography panel) is strictly confidential.

Fee

You have one ful year to sell your art from the date it appears online!!!

Option 1: You may send up to five images with all additional information included. Your portfolio will be posted on the "Cartoonist's world" site for free, for one full year. After any one of your entries is sold, you will have to pay only 30% of the original price. You can change your account to the second option at any time before a piece is sold.

Option 2: You may submit unlimited number of entries for sale. Prior sending items you should agree to the following conditions:

- We are considering the first 5 (five) items for our required Base entry. The listing fee for the Base entry will be only $25.00

- Any additional 5 (five) items will be listed for only $15.00

- The fee for every additional single item after the Base entry is only $4.00

- You can choose bold text for your listings for only $1.00

- We will replace a single item in your collection for only $4.00

- We will replace all 5 (five) items for only $12.00

- We will change the price to a single item, or all of your collection for only $2.00 at a time

Examples:

- Listed 5 items (Base entry) - The fee is: $25.00

- Listed 7 items - The fee is: $25.00 (Base entry) + $8.00 (two single items) = $33.00

- Listed 11 items - The fee is: $25.00 (Base entry) + 15.00 (second Base entry discount) + $4.00 (A single item) = $44.00

Final value fee (For option 2 only)

After an item is sold there is a final transaction fee - 10% of the selling prise.

You can pay by money order, or international money order. All funds in USA dollars.
