Borislav was born in 1951 in Bulgaria and later graduated as an art teacher. He published his first cartoon in 1978. After that, he published cartoons in over 250 newspapers and magazines in Bulgaria, Russia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, U.S. etc. He also participated in more than 150 exhibitions and competitions in Sophia, Skopje, Belgrade, Belgium, Holland, Tokyo, Italy, Cuba, Austria, Turkey, Brazil, Greece, Iran, U.K., Poland etc. and won many prizes as listed below:
1988- second prize in the International hall of Cartoons in Montreal, Canada
1988-third prize in the National Cartoon competition in Sopot, Bulgaria
1989-prize in Dwizburg, Germany
1990-prize in Anglet, France
1993-prize in Essen, Germany
1983, 1984, 1986, 1987-solo exhibitions in a variety of cities in Bulgaria
Borislav also worked on a contract for the Cartoon Archive syndicate for publishing cartoons in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. In 1988, he was included in the
“Who’s who?” In Bulgaria.
They say “A picture is worth a thousand words”, and this is very true for Borislav’s cartoons.
Mostly executed in black and white for maximum impression in addition to his smooth and very clean graphic line, majority of his cartoons do not need any explanations. For this reason, and for his unbelievable imagination to pick ideas from every day life, Borislav’s cartoons are a favourite in newspapers and magazines all over the world.
